Blimee! I thought my effort had fell off the radar. Well done matey, spot on. The only sheltered part of the SW end of the Straits last Saturday - although Aber Menai wasn't much worse.
Few people seem to go into Belan - apart from the handful that berth there. Good place for birdwatching. And a happy NY to you too. Are you based in that area?
Edit: DOH!, just read your Bio - Conwy. I had a swinging mooring there for years but got fed up with the Council taking the P out of yotties with their ever increasing fees and zero facilities!
I will watch out for you in the future. Please slow down when you pass me, especially if I am standing on the cabin top fiddling with my stick, string or rags! Happy boating!
Don't have any info on the yacht SV, but, despite a French sail number it actually looks like a Dutch Botter or similar. Was it flying any national colours?

I'll be out sometime in the next couple of weeks if this bleedin wind & rain shifts from S.Devon.
Told her indoors that I simply have to go down there to ensure the batteries and mooring lines are ok. She said "good riddance" or something similar.
My dinghy on the Avon is now partially afloat on its slipway /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
Hopefully the river level is on the way down by now.

I think that she is most definitely a Norwegian Colin Archer type - they were / are based on the famous sailing rescue boats (the Redningskoite) designed by a Scottish (I think) gentleman called Colin Archer who lived in Norway.
This one looks like she might be built from Larch, possibly on oak.
