Literally in this case. How long should each side of an anchor bridle be for a 34' catamaran?

I already have the chain hook, one of these...

which the nerd in me is pleased to see is made out of duplex stainless steel.

I had a 12m catamaran and made each leg of the bridle equal to the beam which was 6m. I gave up using chain hooks after breaking a very expensive one when hit by a sudden katabatic gust of 60 knots. Instead, i used a rope tail about 1m long attached to the bridle's apex with a sheet bend knot. In turn, the tail was attached to the anchor's chain using a rolling hitch. Easy and quick to tie and always undoes once the load's taken off it.

I listened to a talk over lockdown about anchoring and the recommendation was a snubber of equal lengths to the boat. My previous snubber was only a couple of meters long.

Afterwards, but when still in lockdown, I made my snubber to be the same length (at no stretch) as the distance from rear cleat, over bow roller and down to just above water line.

I will admit the ride at anchor during a bit of blow is much more gentle. I am impressed.

So to answer the OP's question - length of string to be equal the length of the boat and if using 2 legs I'd go for comparatively thin 3 strand nylon.
