How long have you owned your boat?

38 years this spring.
I think the decision to keep, formed about 20 years ago, has made my boat ownership more rewarding than if I had changed at that point.

We bought our Moody 33 in 1998 and moved aboard soon after. Im posting this from the saloon.

Will likely finally move ashore at the end of the summer but still sail her. As one does.

Current boat 9 years and planning to keep her as long as I can safely sail her.
The previous one 11 years in ownership, but crewed on her and chartered her from new, which was another 11 years.

I get the sense that all the new boat salesmen that lurk on here have phoned the office to say they won't be in tomorrow morning.

Spot on! When I worked in a company that sold boats we used to reckon that yachties changed perhaps every ten years on average. Motor boats much more often, say three years.

I have owned my yacht for 16 years.
My car for 16 years.
My house for 33 years.
My wife for 48 years (although ownership may be questionable!:devilish:)

I must be a very dull person.

We've had our Sadler 32 from new. She'll be 35 this March.

No plans to change. She's always been big enough as our family expanded. And she's not too big for us as a couple these days.

We bought her new and she'll be 17 next month. I can see at least another 10 years with her. No plans to change at all.
