Perhaps a slightly leading subject, but most who frequent these hallowed halls speak only of areas south of the Wash.

Is there life north of Gibraltar Point?

I am aware of the sort of muddy puddle bit in the middle of the country but things appear to get a bit deeper a bit further up so I am moving Hartlepoole way.

Any activity up there, or can I relax in the knowledge that there will be no-one around to witness my many gaffs and become the subject of forum ridicule.

Status.... the forum has largely been the preserve of the Suffolk and Essex community.... but only because they were the only ones who posted....

A couple of Wash based sailors had a little dig about this a while ago, and were challenged to keep posting, and drag Wash sailors into the forum.... which to their credit they have made massive headway on... there are now a good few regular Wash posters on here.... and the extension of ECF local knowledge has been most welcome....

So....... the upshot of this is.... there aren't any/many North East posters on here.... but for no real reason.... you would be most very welcome... and your challenge, should you choose to accept it, would be to drag a few more, kicking and screaming with you!

Welcome along! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To be fair, the reason most posts are from the soft southern bit of the east coast is that it's where most of the boats are! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I sail in The Wash, but plans are to travel further north this year, might see you in Hartlepool for a day or 2.....

Yes, but not life as we know it, Jim!

As a newcomer to the East Coast (well returnee, really) I wouldn't know for sure, but I'd always thought that anywhere past the Wash counted as southern approaches to the Shetlands. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Another Wash Wader checking in /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If you have a look here you'll see that mostly it's people from the South East. As you go further North they tend to be less sociable /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Well Ken ( Tommyrot ) is happy to admit it and Joe ( JKay ) is so unsociable he probably won't even post to say he can't be arsed to be sociable /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
