How does insurance assessment work?

Sadly, when there's a major event, there may not be a "guilty" party. If this were in the UK then the Konsort owner / mooring installer etc would have to be negligent in some way - which may or may not be the case, but you (or your insurers) would have to prove it. The law in Greece may be different.

This was in the UK.

It's a foam sandwich hull?
Which is more work, and also you start to have choices about a strong, sound repair vs putting it back just as it was and keeping weight out of the bow.
The toe rail and deck join are a lot of work to restore to original, much less work to do something which is sound and functional and looks 'OK but different'.
It looks like gelcoat, are you happy to end up with a painted boat? A paint job is anything from a few hundred to several thousand.
£30k is higher than I would have guessed though, that is a lot of man-hours.

Friend had a similar repair done to his bow recently and was similar money, without the transport etc, was done at the local yard.

Not foam sandwich. But £30k would pay for 3 months of a skilled man when you take into account overheads, I would expect.

Anyhow we will see how it goes. Thanks for all the helpful comments - I now understand the process.
