How do I measure amps?

Its the power that the shunt can handle passing through it, not battery capacity

Actually, it's the current passing through which matters, not the power. The shunt has no idea what power is going through it because it doesn't know the voltage drop to the other side of the circuit..

How large? A 1200watt inverter will require more than 100amps. Just look at the current required by the load to see what shunt rating you need.

My shunt is 200A & the inverter is rated @ 1200w. i have yet to try the BM 2 with the MW
