how do i lubricate a plastic zip?

Teflon spray or gel. We use it on the sprayhood and cockpit tent zips too. In fact, HR say that if you don't you are asking for trouble.

+1 for Teflon spray ...... there is now a WD40 Teflon spray or for about half the price you can buy a Teflon spray from Toolstation.

As said dont use the ordinary WD40 or anything that leaves an oily or greasy residue

Haven't seen this before.

Does it stay malleable after time (whereas normal wax solidifies when temp drops and zipslip (wax in whitespirit) solidifies as spirit evaporates)?

Does it resemble toothpaste after time is what I am trying to ask. Seen some excellent zip lube on zips, but never been able to identify it. Google has not helped me.

Hardly notice it, apart from nice smmoth zips that is.

The zip lube sold for drysuits is very good.
Furniture polish is good too. It contains water, so can dissolve a bit of salt.
Sometimes hot water helps.

Thank you, David2453.
My quest continues.....
