Well they aren't what they were but not a total washout for Easter just yet. The forecast from the Met seems to be evolving slowly, and Saturday/Sunday now don't look too bad - I've certainly been out in much worse than is forecast on many a Sunday over the last couple of years.

The original Grand Long Weekend Cruise plan has had to be abandoned, and now we're just going to pick a window in the showers on Saturday to dash up to the Hamble, have a night out, and then take a sloooow cruise back enjoying a few favourite spots and hoping the forecast for a day of sunshine is right on Sunday. Monday looks to be a day to stay in bed - or visit the out-laws. :(

Anybody else still planning to get out on the water at the weekend?

When are you chaps going to learn......

Fantastic weather out here in Sant Carles today, we arrived early yesterday and had the boat booked in to the boatyard for a lift and pressure wash today.

Called over to the boatyard at 9.00am and all done by 10.00am, should have gone back to the berth but it was flat and clouds starting to melt, so couldn't resist a slow jaunt out to a small bay in the lagoon. Dropped the hook and not a boat in sight. Spent a couple of hours chilling out in the sun.

Then a short blast back to the marina meeting Hurricane on his way out to the bay, crossed his wake after he passed and run Buster up to 33 knots.

Last trip on this boat we are getting it ready for collection by the new owner between 8-15th April - sad to see her go, I just love T34's but just need a bigger boat I'm afraid!

Lots of Brits out this week, still a few vacant berths........!

Our original four day cruise has also been cancelled. We currently plan to weekend on the boat. We've some family who'd enjoy a day out but don't fair well at sea (sickness wise) so we're going to have a day cruising the Orwell and Stour. If the weather permits, we'll take a run offshore and have a day fishing the other day.

Weekend cancelled, planed launch from the yard cancelled due to high winds, up until tonight predicted between force 4-7 over the weekend, without weather window, all southerlies or their about pushing straight up the Dart, not the time for departure even though it's just a short hop back to Torbay, don't fancy being blown ashore if we encounter problems.

So looks like we are decorating all weekend, hope you all have a better time.

Hmm Easter weather is always bad. Boat back in but steering problem not fixed yet. Will go and look at her at some point. Rest of the weekend will be on diy.

I'll definitely be on the water.... on an airbed in Egypt;) Rugby tournament the weekend we're back in Torquay and then hopefully, the first proper trip of the year out in the boat the following weekend.

We are planning to pop across the solent to Cowes for the weekend... I have my fingers crossed!

Plans shattered.

I was planning a trip to Airlie Beach and meet with a fellow forumite on a visit.

#2 Son due to arrive from Brisbane around noon with wife and second new grandson.

Suppose I will just have to eat and drink lots over the next 3.5 days. also #2 daughters birthday today so no chance of me behaving this easter.

We could be putting a large dent in the Rum locker methinks.

Avagoodweekend......;)

Shame about the timing for the meet Oldsalt, but congratulations on the new grandson :)

The wind conditions seem pretty light up until Thursday, so we won't be getting the cat up to much speed, but should keep the family happy with some good weather for snorkling and swimming.

I've got your number in my phone, so standby in case a numpty, learner, cat sailor gives you a call for advice on what to do next

Cheers

Callum

Well that's the very reason I moved to the Med. Loads of visits to the boat and more maintenance than man hours on the water!

Hurricane left for Peniscola (18nm south) this morning and is moving onto Las Fuetntes (10nm south of Peniscola) for an overnight stop. Asked me to join him but as the boat is now sold, I didn't want to chance anyhting going wrong so we agreed to meet in the lagoon to play when he returns tomorrow.

Weather is great out here at the moment, take a look:

Even with the weak pound its cheaper to berth out here than it is to be in the UK!

We're the same as you - cross-Channel trip now cancelled. Today was gardening and odd jobs. Will go to the boat Saturday and see if we can get to Poole, returning on Monday.

Failing that the Jolly Sailor will get my cash again and we'll see who else is around the Hamble for a beer!

Sorry guys, I don't mean to rub it in, it's just that I know how you feel having been previously berthed in Brighton and then Torquay. Trips up the Dart on a sunny day, now that was nice, the old water taxi skipper, he must be nearly 90 by now!

If only the UK had better weather I would be back, roll on global warming, need to burn some more diesel I think.....

Watched a couple of intrepid souls poke their noses out from Poole Harbour into the bay. It looking quite exciting and 20-30 minutes seemed to be enough for them.

A few yachts were more intrepid and sailed off further afield.

A few larger Mobos anchored up around Brownsea Island for lunch it seemed but despite the beautiful clear sunshine its was bracingly cold.
