How a luxury yacht is built

"Discovery produce every part of each luxury yacht on their own site in Southampton."

Yes I wondered about that one as well. Pretty sure they'd have something to say about the abuse of their patents back at Volvo-Penta....

Slightly un-nerving to read about a subject you know a little of in the mainstream media; makes you wonder how much of what you take as gospel is just sweeping generalisation

I wasn't even going to mention their "unique look at the creation of Discovery's British-built luxury yachts."

Just how is it "unique"? Is it more unique that Yachting World's Under the Skin series of 20 odd years ago?:D

Almost all of it, except those parts which are incorrect or slanted. Anyone with specialist knowledge of an industry, profession etc can hardly fail to cringe, or perhaps boil with rage, at almost any article in any mainstream medium about that subject. My specialisms have been defence, the nuclear industry and, more recently, the water and waste sector. Knowledgeable or balanced coverage is in my experience almost completely absent, and the more "prestigious" the paper, broadcaster or website the worse its performance. Some of the most dismal articles have been in trade or professional magazines.

It's certainly no more unique than this one, and in my opinion nowhere near as good. But then I am biased as my son filmed it!

Nail. Head.

If you know a subject it is bloody awful to see the various descriptors of "Jumbo Jet span" or "Football Pitches" or "Double Deckers" rolled out and the general fannying on over small points.
