Hotel or B&B - Marlow area?

complete angler is a nice place, but not if you arrive by boat. we saw the bollards, thought how nice, tie up there and have lunch. tying up flunkie comes out, fiddles with the access gate, we think how nice he is helping us. NOO he was trying to lock it, when I realise this, I say we wanted lunch, he looks us up and down, and down again. I say we will be getting changed (it was December !) reluctantly he lets us in.

we (2 of us) had one course (average) lunch in the place overlooking the thames (having already stared at the water for a week - how nice) two bottles of beer, £64 !

Stayed there on a corporate do once. Very nice, except that the electronic door lock system had broken down and every time you wanted to go to your room, you had to be accompanied by a flunky to unlock your door, so it was a bit like being in prison (I am told....). Embarrassing for anybody who had, ahem, booked some female company for the evening. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Nice place, tho' not exactly cheap.

Apart from the Crowne Plaza (business hotel) there ain't much else in Marlow. If money's no object, try the Danesfield House hotel near Medmenham, or 15 mins drive from Marlow you'll find the Red Lion and the Hotel Du Vin in Henley - I can recommend the HDV.

Stayed at the Danesfield on the way back from Reading a few months ago. Very nice place but the price is ot for the fainthearted. U also need to book ahead if u want to eat in the (very good) restaurant.
