Today ive been inventive and made a shower!! Thanks to this forum i have a bath on board. A showers nice and better in summer.
I saw at the DIY shop, half price No1 gargen bags 7.90 euros! Haveing tried it for size in the shop given it a lot of though i invested 7.90 euros. Back to the boat opened it, the strong coil spring turning it into a large bin over 1 meter high.
Searched the boat for my spare small bilge pump (thats the problem with haveing such a big boat!It can at times hard to remember where i put somthing)Cut a piece of hose to size clip on a shower head fill bin with water and try.
Succsses a good strong shower! i can stand under it for as long as i want (or untill the water cools down)Wash my hair and rince it overbord then soap rince in the recycled water!!! ( i havent tried washing in it yet!As theres a free shower nearby) Its great!!It seems to work!Far to cold tonight to try it!Perhaps tommorow after lunch when the suns nice and walm??
Development planed! I have a spare pressure switch water pump. Open a tap as the pressure reduces the pump cuts in close tap it stops! The plan is to fix this pump in the cockpit and have two pipes one comeing into the bin attached to a bildge scoop which ill stand on to keep it under water.
For the outlet ill lead a pipe to a whale tap (cos ive got one somewhere)Then have the shower hose with shower head to a boom fitting fill bag with hot water stand in bin switch shower on trying not to slash and loose water to much.As the water cools (after quater of an hour???)turn shower off apply soap the rince!
Hopefully clean & relaxed, dry cockpit and sit down with glass of wine and an apperative (made befor!)
Seems perfect!! In summer when at anchor for a few days i can fill with water then waddel like a ships bowser out to the anchorage and have showers just like all the others there!!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
