I bought my own hose after I saw a jetskier flush his heads with the marina one

I didn't know you could get a jetski big enough to have it's own heads /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

As an employee at a marina I am aware that we actually had a letter from the water company stating that it was necessary to run every tap/hose that we have for ten minutes every week to flush out any stagnant water that may harbour nasty microbes.

It struck me as blatantly stupid for two reasons:

1. Any boat owner would have to be a bit thick not run the tap a bit first before filling their tanks.

2. It only takes a couple of hours of sunshine for the water in the freshly run hoses to turn green anyway.

Most definately it is an ass covering decision based on our litigious culture.

Every Thursday by any chance? I stood chatting to our night dockmaster as he ran the tap for the proscribed time - just after I'd put 400 litres into my water tank (and I'd ran the hose for a while before doing that too).
