Honda BF150 / Merry Fisher 755

I couldn’t find any of my paperwork with the prop I had on my Honda 150. But one final point, stainless steel props have to be polished, it’s hard work and non stop and my boat was kept on a dry stack

I have a stainless steel prop on my Honda BF135, and have never had to polish my prop in the past three years I've owned my boat, and it's also kept on a dry stack, and it looks as good as new.....all it gets is a high pressure wash from the yard each time it's lifted to store on the stack.

Decided to go stainless steel four blade propeller. I think that the mid range and low down power would be used more than top end speed. Cruising at about 20 - 25knots with the added better fuel consumption I feel would be more beneficial to me. I'll let you know how I get on....:encouragement:

We had our SS Duo prop done by a local metal polisher. £60 to put on a mirror finish. Dry stacked boat it just wipes clean with a rag between uses. We then have it re-polished over the winter - £40 to top up polish

I used Cillit Bang and a pot scour, calcification was our problem. Maybe a Med thing

I've now had the boat for a few weeks, it can throw you out the back on acceleration but I'm only getting 22knots at 5500rpm with a clean bum and not too many fray bentos steak and kidney pie's in the fridge! I'm told I should be getting closer to 30knots WOT !! Prop fitted is Part No 58134-ZY3-A15HR 14.5 X 15" pitch 4 blade Stainless steel I'm thinking the pitch is too small - maybe should've stuck with a three blade? I want closer to 30knots WOT and cruise at 20knots can anybody who has same outfit comment on what pitch and speed they are getting?

You’re 500rpm short. Technically the wide open throttle should be between 5000 and 6000, which means you are spot on but the sweet spot is definitely 6000 (not over) and Honda’s three bladed ss prop will take you there. I only did 30knots once (when new after running the engine in as per the manual) but with a clean bum, not overloaded it always got close.
In general a four bladed prop is not made for top end but for hole shots, pulling skiers, cavitation problems in tight turns etc

Im sorry but i tried to find my old paper work. I’ll look again after i get back from my little boat trip tomorrow

Generally , one inch change in pitch with give you about 200 more rpm. Personally I won’t change your current setup as you are within the recommended interval 5000-6000 at WOT.
Concentrate on perfecting your trimming and optimizing your sailing to suit water conditions. Do not forget that the more junk that you carry on the both the more weigh and you fall in speed .

My 2cents.
