I think we may need to up the baud rate on this thread it's getting so long.
Anyone know about NMEA 2000?
Anyone know about NMEA 2000?
It is built on canbus and rs232 is an absolute no-no there...Anyone know about NMEA 2000?
Yes, this is *SO* representative of my impression of you and how you act. Why would you object to anyone pointing out that a shift would be more efficient or more clear than a divide? If anyone has suggestions on improvements for you, why not just take them and be happy, or ignore them and still be happy? But then I had a horrible premonition. That would just start the whole process again from the software engineers barking at me...'You should have done a shift instead of a divide' etc.
Well when the electronic attack dog up their claimed that I hadn't written the code for the soft UART, I was going to post a whole load of C source.
But then I had a horrible premonition. That would just start the whole process again from the software engineers barking at me...'You should have done a shift instead of a divide' etc.
Maybe I should post details of the plastic box it sits in so the industrial designers can come in and have a chew.

You don't have to treat everything as a personal attack on you, just because someone says something else than "Oh, what a nice little project", but instead says "if you do like this or that, it will work better".
If someone want to help you improve your design for free, why be so negative about it. It's like it is your baby and no one can touch it, or what? No one is forcing you to take the suggestions either, but you don't need to start arguing about them either, if you are not prepared to take a discussion on the subject.
I am installing a through hull DST800 transducer with a fairing block... If someone professional installer had comments about how to do that and material choice, I would be more than happy to get them. I thought that was the very purpose of the forum, to be able to discuss these things, but it seems this forum should only be used to pat each other on the shoulder and say "what a nice job you have done"...
And? What is the difference if you call it a discussion or an argument? I completely fail to follow your meaning here...Where does a discussion become an argument?

It was not less than 3 boxes afaics...Here's a small plastic box I was intending using...
So just go back to page 1 and 2 of this thread and see when/how/if the discussion turned into an argument.arguments are angrier..
Once again people here turn into ridiculous mode... What's wrong with you ppl...It's just a 4 dimensional box that's all. If you rotate it right then it changes colour and gets longer.
OK, so if there is no difference, why did you want to know when it turned from one into another and why did you just define a difference?but there's no difference between an argument and a discussion.

I would add a blue status LED, and house it in a transparent box or embed it in clear epoxy. Here's a small plastic box I was intending using. I can buy it from RS for £2.32...
So this Jewish mother was attending her son's Passing-Out-Parade, and noticed that the troops were not all in step.Once again people here turn into ridiculous mode... What's wrong with you ppl...
