There's bound to be a court case before too long, no doubt along the lines of not fit for purpose or something similar to determine if any fault. What's going to happen with the wrecks? Metal (keels engines etc) can be salvaged and weighed in but what about the hulls, landfill?

Think that idea has been rejected because eventually the GRP breaks down and as it does small plastic bits are released the sea.

Any excuse to say no..
GRP is heavier than water so any fines will sink in the same way as inert sediment. And in reality, it is a minute fraction of the weight of fine material that is carried to the seas every minute of the day by the major rivers. Meanwhile, the environment is denied a valuable habitat in which fish can spawn.

Ask any fishing charter boat where the best fishing is and they say on and around a wreck.
