Can anyone suggest suitable holiday?
Family with 2 kids, 11 & 14. Somewhere warm with good quality accomodation, possibility of a little dinghy sailing & also couple of days day sailing. Can't convince family to flotilla or charter!. Don't wan't to go the £7000 plus Mark Warner or Sunsail route.
Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Try Club Med. I went to their Palmiye site where they had excellent food (french company, you see) and a load of hobie cats but no yachts though. I don't think i've found any company other than sunsail that offers a fleet of proper yachts for daysailing from a beach club.

Dominican Republic all-inclusive? Dirt cheap, warm, some reasonable quality accommodation and nice people. A lot of the resorts have a few hobie cats. (Well, the one we went to did and we got plenty of use, because not many other people seemed interested in leaving the bar.)

Re: Aran01 Magnum

Go to the sunsail website a week before and get a last minute deal - about £400 pp

in reply to your desire for a land-based holiday with sailing on a day basis, you might like to look at our website: www.swiftsailandski.co.uk. i think we probably will have everything you're looking for. indeed it is families such as yours that we have in mind for the villa with pool based sailing day holidays. hoping to be up and running next summer- would love to welcome you and your family to our beautiful olive grove facing the sea and our lovely 43ft. Gib'sea yacht Rendezvous.

Note: MW doesn't do yots, and is much lighter on it's ratios of boats to people. Check out Neilson. Better value for money than Sunsail, and probably the best ratios of boats to people. Certainly, the best outfit at windsurfing, which appeals to the younger ones.

They don't advertise much (probably why they're cheaper!) but you'll find them at neilson

I've benn to Sunsail before and loved it. I would suggest going either at the beginning or the end of the season as the prices are significantly lower. We went to Marverde for two weeks for about £3000. The prices for this period didn't seem any more expensive than Neilson or MW. We picked Sunsail over Neilson and Mark Warner because there seemed to be more family room options. Neilson seemed to have a lot of resorts where it was necessary to book two seperate rooms for any part larger than three. As we have two children this didn't appeal. With Sunsail we had a two bedroom suite which was far more suitable. The Kids Clubs were excellent as was the food. I sailed dinghies, day yachts, Hobie cats and windsurfers. I would recommend it to anyone.
