Hole under windlass for chain

Don't know where from but IIRC the chain pipe my windlass needed (same sized rode as yours) was 60mm dia.

That's what I used, although I can't remember the diameter now. I bought it from ASAP ltd.

When I fitted my Lofrans Tigres Windlass I fitted a stainless tube into the hole below he gypsy.

I think I used 50mm od 1.5mm wall tube and squashed it to fit into the oval hole through the deck.

If the windlass doesn't already have it, you want the tube to have an upstand above deck level of an inch or so, to help prevent water pouring in.

Nick, you're very welcome to have the one off our new boat. I had to remove it because it was causing the chain to jam up. I don't think it's big enough for the boat (we have 10mm chain on the Moody). Should be fine for 8mm I think. If you're interested I will dig it out.

Mine is grey plastic drain pipe about 80mm diameter. It's sealed to the underside of the deck with a collar of teak. It runs between the two forepeak bunks at about 70degrees from horizontal, (ie slightly off vertical), and discharges into the chain well which is between those two bunks, and has a similar timber seal at bottom end. Any seawater runs through that pipe too, and straight out the chain drain to the bilge. A bit of an issue when shipping lots of "green", but solveable with a rag or sponge rammed in the hawse hole.
