can anyone tell me where i can get a holding tank for a pump out toilet at a reasonable price? the ones i have seen so far are in the region of a £120 for a capacity of about 20 gallons, which seems to be rather excessive for a plastic box.

many thanks steve

Getting a holding tank may be a problem but emptying it in a pump out station look like being a worse one. Sewage works dont like the effluent because the salt upsets the bugs and can cause H2S in the sewer. South West Water are unhappy about having one at Dartmouth as the sewage flow from Dartmouth isnt sufficient to cope with the disturbance. At leat thats what they said at a recent Dart Forum meeting

Galvanised steel is cheap an reliable, especially if you make your own (eisier than it sounds). Galvanisers useually have a min waight per order so its worth getting together and say getting chains & anchors redone at the same time.
