Holding tank will not pump out

Finally got to the bottom of the problem (no pun intended) The extraction pipe from top of holding tank to the bottom of tank, through which it is pumped out, has fallen off into the tank. New one on order, so hopefully it will be all sorted next week. At least I know how the system works now. Thanks to everyone for help and advice.

odd, how did this happen?
I'd expect it's a plastic pipe, stuck in the top fitting and cut at a slope at the bottom almost touching the base of the tank. Shouldn't be easy for it to slide out and drop. not that I suggest you go fishing for it and refitting, but at least make sure the new one is secured properly.

happy/dirty ending at least :D

cheers

Hi Vas. The manufacturer said it was a new one for them also. Really difficult to get at due to tank position in boat.I am going to blank it off and reposition new one at a place more easily accessible, for any future maintenance. Cannot retrieve old pipe as tank is split type with baffle in the middle.
