Buy bottled water...your joking ..what a joke..the advertising industrial machine really do have some people by the bit s.
Next time somebody on here whinges about running a boat...ask them if they buy bottled water.

We always used a Brita filter jug, jug filled from the tap and then left to filter. Used for drinking, tea, coffee etc, possibly ice - can't remember. Tank water used for teeth.

The real con of course is the fizzy stuff ,ordinary spring water mechanically infused by a machine in a factory somewhere ....

£2.00 buys you 1000L from the tap and less chance of catching something unpleasant.......
AND the council does not have to spend money picking up millions of plastic bottles thrown away on the roadside by the sort of people who drink bottled water ?

I have been coming round to this approach. So easy to top up the jug from the tap as well.

We had a seperate filter tap on the last boat, filter does the same thing as a Brita but not got round to fitting on on the latest boat, Poor form on my part as its my business water coolers and those heavy bottles, where possible we always install the coolers with a filter connected to the mains!! saves the customer a fortune and they dont have to wressle with those heavy 19ltr bottles.

Took a look at the Brita filter jugs in the local Robert Dyas yesterday and picked up a Fjord 1.5litre (filtered capacity, actually a bit larger) for around £16

Absolutely, and suitable stowage/securing arrangements will be put in place - it gets quite rough up here on the non-tidal Thames, dontcha know !

We just use the water straight from the tank. Its only a small tank so turnover of water is high.

Watch out for those rowing clubs. They're usually on frying pan look out, if they get wind of a jug of water that's not tied down they'll be racing alongside within minutes

Although the jug is designed to fit inside the fridge door it will likely be kept on the galley worktop - I might even make it a special little rack to hold it safely. Mind you, the contents of our fridge is not big on alcohol other than SWMBO's mandatory bottle of wine which, naturally, takes precedence in terms of fridge space, so it may actually get to sit inside the fridge door from time to time. Am I bovvered?
