Hinged ladder bracket/step for raked in transom.

The transom on my Neptunian rakes in around 12" from the deck to water line.
I carry a 9 foot fixed ladder which has a variety of uses ( gang way etc.)
I wanted to use it as a boarding ladder, it will hang over/fasten to the pulpit quite well and reach well into the water so that creaky old legs like mine can climb out
( I'm thinking about the recent 'rescue' in Windermere)
I was trying to design some sort of 'stand off' for the ladder which I could attach when it was needed for boarding ladder use.
My latest thinking is that a hinged 'bracket' mounted permanently on the transom would be a better solution..........always there ready for the ladder and possibly usable as a bathing platform etc
Possibly there is something on the market or I could get my local fabricator to make something up.
Any advice on the general idea and also on the construction much appreciated.

Fold-away standoffs on the ladder ?

Big cylindrical fender for the ladder to rest against ?? could have lines the right length with hooks/clips to go over the rail

Rig it so it goes over the midship topsides. So much easier to use than clambering over the stern.

Thanks guys. Yes I have considered the 'stand offs' and have one exactly like the one in the link fitting it every time is a bit of a fiddle even with wing nuts and the amount of stand off is not really enough. I had considered using it and fitting some rubber ends to protect the gel coat, sucker type ones would be ideal. I thought the permanently fixed but hinged bracket would be an improvement on that idea though.
Michael-w ....I agree that 'Over the side' is usually regarded as best for boarding but in this case the fitting on the stern is what I need to go for.
