It's 0.5-0.7m less than we had in 2013 in Brightlingsea. Still enough to come for the waves to wash it over the prom by the Sailing Club and fill up the dinghy park/car park/campsite behind. Surge at Harwich beat the surge predictor by ~0.3m so has probably caught people out.

I should know this but I can't figure out where the first and third pics are? I can see that the 4th is at F.Ferry.

At around 11 am. we had nearly 1.3m on top of the tide but by high water the surge had dropped to .6m so could have been a lot worst.
The wind had plenty of south in it by then so held it back somewhat.

I was shown some photos today of the tide at WFYC. The tide was some way up the clubhouse steps and covering the road.

Speaking today to one of the people who operate the Lido at Brightlinsgea, he said that Humber CG realised something was going wrong and contacted Dover.. because there is no longer any Thames CG. But Dover failed to pass messages so no one knew it was about to hit even though there was plenty of time to act.

Seems the cost savings from shutting down Thames have born effect....
