Hi everyone

As you say a couple of days polishing and varnishing can work wonders. And some new soft furnishing / carpets can transform a boat.

Usually best to arrange your own survey but might be worth telling us who the broker recommended as he might stil be ok? A pre season service is an excellent idea.

Thank you Petem,
I do not know the name of the surveyor as the dealer never mentioned it. All I know is that he is an ex police man and mad about boats. Not sure where he is based but the boat is in Kent.
I have requested a quote from a surveyors firm based in the solent after reading reviews about them but have not received a reply just yet.
I was hoping to get down to business soonish..

Ok, I made my mind and made an offer on the Sealine 215 Envoy. The owner requested a price abit higher than my budget but you know what? I think it is worthy. So I have arranged for the surveyor to come down and see her on the 17th and I have taken the week off as I also need to see the bank manager for the finance. I have also requested for the local engineer at the Marina to have an inspection and advice if anything needs replacing. I noticed that on the drive, on the left hand side there was an oily residue in one of the hydrolic bits, maybe the hydrolic arm that swings the drive left to right, so this could indicate that the seal may need replacing, hence I would like an inspection while she is out and have the service done before I launch her for the year. I am really exited about the whole thing and I have a good feeling in my gut, so, gotta follow my instincts and fingers crossed, I will be a proud owner very soon. The minute this is done I will post some pics to see what you all think. I am going to book myself with a local guy at the Marina to take the RYA power boat level 2 training done, this should give me the essentials before I start doing some serious boating. I told the wife to kiss good bye the airport lounge and embrace the berths and the rest (she did not see the funny side)
Anyway, good nite to all and safe boating.
