Brilliant map. I suppose that without signposts it could have been essential. Here's a rather different one, from a game which I think was called 'the invasion of Britain', seen at the amazing/weird toy museum in Peenemunde.

It would have been a great help. Many of our place-names are a mystery to foreigners. I remember trying to buy a ferry ticket for our daughter in Esbjerg (pronounced something like Esj-bur-yah). The young lady didn't catch on at all to our saying 'Harwich' until finally she came out with 'Harvick', which would be understood on a number of countries.
