Here we go again.

You get to choose your focal distance. For short sighted people used to wearing glasses the recomendation seems to be about 12in. This means you can drive and read à restaurant menu in good light without glasses. For long sighted people à longer distance is recommanded. They dont seem to want to do one eye longer sighted than the other here.
In the USA they will want to put in à toric Lens. This basically has two diifferent focal lengths in built in and the brain learns how to use the right cercle. It is not popular here.

I had mine done 18 months ago and I have glasses with variofocal lenses which work very well For me. I often work on my computer witj no glasses. I have a correction of -0.75 with à +2.5 additive.

Basically they can put in any fixed focal lengjt Lens you want.

I was given a choice. I had been very short sighted but elected for a much longer focal point. It was (and is) great but I did have a retinal tear a couple of years later which involved an emergency vitrectomyi can now see icons on my phone sans specticles. Thatcwere nor apparent b 4kong vision id still good. Oversll a life changing procedure

I've had both my eyes done and have gone from being around -11 to near normal. However, even though the replacement lenses restore near normal vision, it doesn't change the basic configuration of the eye - a short sighted eye is still a short sighted eye and is subject to various changes as a result. In my rather extreme case, that's thinning of the retina, which may, sooner or later, give me problems. I hope later!i m now fondinmy eyes relly sensitive to broght light
