Here we go again....lexus boat

Indeed equally appalling as the Aston job.

It would be interesting to discuss with the Toyota product managers why they do it from a brand perspective, I guess is the whole aspirational selling model.

If those are CAD renderings of a concept only they are bloody good!

B.,
the above HAS to be a rendering by a v. good modeller/animator who's never been on a boat, glossy reflective material on the bathing platform FFS!!!

cheers

Yep and the reflection in the deck of the guy's left shoe is a giveaway, plus the fact he is wearing shoes at all. Good job though - the rendering not the boat.

"You spent how much on this boat? i cant even afford a paid of shoes, and you buy this?"

Man sits. puts arm round his wife and looks out to see looking for an answer. Tears well in his eyes, but you cant see them behind his shades. It seemed such a good idea at the time

"Darling, its ours, not mine, I even named it after you"

I do wonder how 2 petrol V8s fits in with Toyota's march to a more sustainable drive system in their cars? Maybe this boat should have had a Lexus hybrid drive and then you could see a reason for it as a technology showcase. Otherwise it just looks like a bit of self indulgence by the Toyota board

Looks like they've taken a lot of design cues from the SC430 convertible, spiritual heir to the legendary Ford Scorpio:

totally agree, 2 petrol V8's a really lazy option IMO. Although perhaps better than a floating Prius... ?

Yup you would think that if car manufacturers wanted to dip their toes in the boat market it would be with a view to moving the technology game on. One boat I would like to see would be a McLaren boat because you could be sure they would apply all of their latest technological thinking to it. Yes I know they've done a rather fine looking electric river boat already but I would want to see what drive system they would choose for a 50kt missile

Agreed, aside from a software glitch: probably the operator used the "football player" algorithm for the woman's calves...

BTW, am I alone in finding the overall design fugly?
I mean, the AM thing was a total nonsense in many ways (as this one is), but at least it was a nice object to look at, while this one isn't even that, imho. :ambivalence:

Agreed, a McLaren boat would be a bit special and I very much doubt powered by twin V8's... off topic but as passing interest we are McLaren factory neighbours & our little claim to McLaren fame is every McLaren car built fills up on our fuel station, the record was 4 x P1's and 2 x 650s' on our forecourt at the same time. Currently they have a new car under camouflage at the mo running around, looks interesting, sounds amazing.

I saw "something that looked like a Ferrari" in camo going down the A3 on Tuesday (going quite quickly).
I wonder if that was Woking's new effort?
