I think I'm having a post 18 crisis, its suddenly dawned on me that at this moment in time, Im bored of my boat! Ive lost the interest to go to Brighton anymore, the hour and a quatre that sometimes turns into three hours just doesnt seem worth it anymore.

Tried to balme the parents, dont go anywhere, they are BOFs, fed up with constant drinking, but I know that thats not it, maybe not going anywhere contributes. Then thought that maybe im doing something wrong, not geeing myself up enough, "yeah its Friday, lets go to the boat", tried it, didn't work.

After nearly 18 years of constant love for the boat I really dont want to feel this way. Help what can i do to rekindle my love??

As much as I'm in love with boats myself, as you may know, the only answer is to become a real teenager. You have to go out with your mates at the weekend, take drugs, get pi**ed, stay up all night with a crowd of mates, have one night stands, etc.etc. At 18 it's much better than hanging round with a bunch of old soaks - ie your parents.

Come back to boating in a few years!

Buy some knew bits for it that'll make it look better, something that'll make you want to go and fit it immediately. Otherwise wait for the weather to improve or invite a few mates down for a weekend of fun in Brighton, if they are gay they'll love it!

Dom

PS what type of boat is it?

Humber 38, now i sound like a spoilt brat, biggish boat-no interest. Mark, the boat deffinately doesnt get in the way of my social life, as we teens say "livin'-it-large". Very hard to take mates to the boat when you have -parents -paulineb -pantsman and -the incrediable eating man. Pauline, if Sam does come, don't worry, ill leave him in Pat's very capable hands.

Thanx for suggestions

Sigh! Suzanne, I know the feeling, us youngsters need more than hanging about the boat watching the oldies getting ratarsed on cheap plonk. You need dad to move the boat to an area where there's other young 'uns you can mingle with. Brighton is OK for Poofs and for boats which don't need to move. Ramsgate is better for young ones like you and me.

Spent 3 months in Ramsgate once, not impressed, sorry! Have got Sam in Brighton but agree that Brighton has little appeal for long-term stay. I love the shopping and loved Brighton as a bonus day out, this is why im not visiting for a month or so, try and see if i can get excited about going to the pier or something. Definately need some nice weather and weekend to go somewhere nice.

Re Child Line. Internet Suport.

Hi Susan.
Our kids forced us to have 25 holidays on the Broads, bribed us with rants and rages, if we sugested any where else.

After they got to about sixteen and by which time we'd bought our own boat, they became less and less interested. As the boats got bigger, they became even less interested. Just saying, its boring, and generaly making it clear that we were totaly mad, stupid and ignorant, for liking the boat.

The oldest child is now 28 and this summer brought his other half and small son down to the boat and they had a briliant time, we anchored off the fun fair at Torquay, Pubs in Dartmouth, swiming and diving near Brixham. All a very jolly time.

Now I'm 52 and totaly dipressed about the 12 mega expencive years of lost fun.

Hell I'm having a crisis now. Susan please help!!

You aren't impressed with Ramsgate 'cos you don't know where the action is. Young uns like me and Dave Seward know where it all happens. I am particularly well known outside the local girls school where I often stand and give away Sweeties to girls. People wave and point at me and the girls keep giving me the 'V' for victory sign.

Re: Re Child Line. Internet Suport.

Haydn, have had a nightmare experience with a person who called me Susan, to say it p***s me off is an understatement because of the traumer this anon person lead me to, its Suz or Suzanne.

Adopt a child to rekindle those years you lost. Because i really want to help you how does 14 year old female sound. Likes washing boats and walking dogs. Very enthusiastic. Ways of shutting her up are feeding her or giving her money. References from Byron will back her up. For you this one time only deal is free. Initially shes called Sarah, but we'll let you change if you want to.

As for your children, the thought of staying away from the boat for 12 years makes me sick, maybe im on the way to recovery, keep going its working!

It isn't me its Dave, he's a master of chat lines such as "orlright darling?" "do you come here often?" and his foreplay is really impressive he bangs them on the back of the head and says "ere getta hold of this"
I can't compete with such Smoothies.

Hi Suzzane!

I think Markc is right, I have a daughter of 17 and she pretty much feels the same as you about the boat at the moment! we have been boating 14 years! all she wants to do is go to the pub and chat up boys! I cant understand it!! By the way I also have a very fit looking son of 21 and he loves yellow shirts!!!! he will probably do his nut, but if you like I will email his Pic to you!!
