help with Volvo 'radiator cap' coming away whilst we are on holiday!! MD2030 C

OK I see. thanks, but that spigot is not connected to the system, it is the same as the spigot we have, its downstream of the spring / washer and is therefore only for overpressure / blow off, no point in conecting that on a boat, its gonna end in the bilges wither way, so its effictively of no use in marine situation, unless your funny about coolant on your engine occasionally. a taller one with side tapping(s) into coolant would be great soloution. all the vibration from hoses is on the cap as it stands, not good.

NO, you put a plain cap on it, not a pressure cap. I fail to understand why you have 2 connections to an expansion bottle, you only need one at the bottom, it will still vent air.

There is no small outlet tube on the above diagram, perhaps that is why that complex system is used. As the OP has a small tube on his system surely that could be used and would solve all the problems, once the flange is resoldered of course!
