hi guys, so finding my way around my boat its a Quicksilver 855 weekend, we have a fusion music system installed, and I just cant get any sound out of it. The Simrad Chart Plotter has an audio button, and when you click it, it says it cant find any audio. Are the two linked together?I checked the fusion manual and the troubleshooting said to reset it, but when I turn the fuses off it doesn't turn the fusion off. And I cant find another fuse board/ Im going round in circles, can anyone help. Thanks Karen

The plotter will only control it if it is connected to the same NMEA2000 network. That’s assuming a Simrad can communicate with Fusion as Fusion is now a Garmin product. Regarding no sound have you checked the volume is controlling the correct set of speaker zones. You might find your speakers are connected to zone 1 but the volume dial is operating zone 2.

I can confirm that SImrad CAN communicate with/control fusion stereos, as I have a simrad plotter and fusion stereo in my boat.

As per keiths comment, in order for the simrad to control the fusion stereo they both have to be connected on the same NMEA backbone - it would be odd if they were not connected, but not beyond the realms of possibility - you need to see if the fusion stereo and plotter are connected ,look behind the dash area and find them and see if they are wired up together.

There is also a fusion app you can download for your phone that allows you to control the stereo, you could try downloading this and seeing if it can see the stereo.

There must be a switch or circuit breaker somewhere that you can use to power off/on the stereo, failing that the boats main battery circuit breaker(s) should do the same thing

On my boat which has Fusion integrated with the plotter (also Simrad in my case), there are actually two Fusion devices, the main unit which is fitted in the saloon tucked out of the way, and a smaller 'remote' unit which is in clear sight, installed at the helm. If the main unit is off, nothing works (don't ask me how I know) might seem obvious but took me a while to, errr, actually find it.

I had someone look at it, and the fusion and simrad are not connected to each other. Also downloaded the fusion app, and it doesn't find it, so still without music, and even the engineer doesn't know what to do next, the supplier of the boat hasn't been all that helpful, they keep saying they are waiting for fusion to ring them back...hmmmmmm....

I dont have anything on the helm that is fusion related, I just dont know what to do next.
