Hello,

I am conducting genuine market research for a company that is considering importing a new range of motor cruisers to the UK/Europe. I would be grateful for anyone who would be prepared to give me their opinion on the specification and price of the boat.

There is no absolutely no selling aspect to this request, just me as a freelance researcher trying to canvass a wider range of opinion. No personal details will be asked for and no emails passed to a third party. If you feel you would like to particpate then please email me. I will let you have the details and you let me have your thoughts.

Thank you
Brian Short

I would be absolutley delighted and will do so in full view of all other forumers......NAY, I will only do it if in full view of the forum so please post URL/piccies to Boatone, on here or whatever.

P.S. Don't worry I have my own copy of Excel spreadsheet /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Well lets see a bloody picture of the thing then, at least. Is it a coracl. row boat. Rag and stick thingy, or monstrous power boat. We need to know. And none of that sneaky email stuff. We want it live, on here.

You ask for a price and specifications. How about. Er umph. Fourty bedrooms, 10.000 HP and about Three shillings and sixpence. I'll have two please.

Re: Surveys in Public Domain Please

Dear all,

Thanks for all your comments.
Okay, If 'the group' has no objections then I shall post the details tomorrow for your perusal and comment. I shall also attempt to upload some pictures of said boat, depending on what format is used here. Sorry to delay but to be honest you caught me on the hop with your quick fire replies, obviously an active forum.
Feel like a bloke who has just tried to feed Kittycat to the lions den... if is wasn't for the bottle of Port that has just gone adrift [Royal Marine tradition ya know] I might have tried tonight...till Friday then?
Best wishes Brian

Hello, thank you for agreeing to help me with my research. The questions I am interested in are listed below the specs. below but I am also interested in any other opinion[about the boat!] you may have.

Sorry not having any luck posting the four photo's that I have [waiting for techy person to reply to mail] I can email them directly to anyone interested. My email address is appe35@dsl.pipex.com

Thank you again for your help. Brian.

The craft is a six berth GRB sports cruiser with two inboard engines and a fly bridge. It is well fitted out and has a dinerette area that also converts to a sleeping area, in addition to the two main cabins.

Length 33.6 ft.
Beam 11.5 ft
Draft 3 ft

Displacement 6.5 t
Fuel 198 gall.
Water 79 gall.

Cabins 2
Heads 1
Sleeping 6

VHF radio
Stereo
Depth sounder
Depth sounder on fly.

Two inboard Volvo Penta engines 5.7 SI Petrol [upgrades available to Cummins 5.9 engines]
Gear box ZF 630 IV

There is a list of various upgrades, equipment and add ons that come at additional cost.

New Price for the above £98,800 [UK pounds]

QUESTIONS:

1. Given the specification does the craft represent value for money?

2. What sort of use would you see for this craft. i.e. Day use, coastal overnight
trips, suggestions?

3. In terms of selling, what vessels would you see it competing against?

4. Who would buy such a boat i.e retired, businessman, family man, suggestions?

5. Given the above basic spec. are there any changes you would make?

6. If the vessel were imported and you were considering a purchase, would the
back up of a dealership network [or lack of one] influence your decision?

7. If i have managed to upload pictures, what do you think of the looks?

Anything else you can add would be appreciated.
Thank you again
Brian Short

PS Again, this is not a selling expedition. Your details will not be passed on to
anyone else unless you specifically ask me to do so.

Post your pictures here. Then we can all see them. Boat 1 Or Tony as he is some times called will help you.

http://www.arweb.co.uk/argallery/album08/profpichelp

. Much easier then to comment. Like the cummins option, how much are them. Petrols will go down like a lead balloon on here.
