Well I can confirm that it works . :(

Has anyone else got one?

It has been on the dinghy for 5 years and I can't remember how to take it off, or it is bust.

The half round key goes into the lock vertically and rotates smoothly 90 degrees to the horizontal.
When vertical it can be pulled in and out, when horizontal it can't be removed.

What I remember is the locking piece covers access to the nut, and I expected to turn the key and the lock would come out leaving a hole to get a socket in.

But when I pull at the lock it still seems attached to something and I don't want to snap the key.

I have squirted in lots of WD40 and left it over night, it would be really useful if someone knows what is supposed to happen, eg. Is the key supposed to rotate 180 degrees?

I've got an outboard lock, different make but had the same problem. Spent most of one morning trying to unlock it to take the outboard off. Same as you, it would turn but not unlock. I solved the problem by pushing the key in further which then allowed me to turn it 180 degrees and finally unlock it.

So just make sure your key is FULLY inserted before turning.

I might leave it next to EOS, with the key! That could be it though, will try it when I go back down.
