Hi Guys
Can any one tell me how one goes about replacing ???the barrings or what ever eles you do to take up excessive play on a tiller. (a) Is it a specialist's job
. The boat is a 29ft Gibsea, its one of those tillers that go through the cockpit deck, not over the transum, I know it will be picked up on my survey, I'd like to know roughly the cost of such an undertaking, any advise welcome

think you need to establish exactly what is causing the excessive play.
1) Is it between the tillet and the rudder stock
or
2) the rudder itself
or
3) the bearings

Hi Jimi
as you;v probably guessed Im new to this owning a boat Malarkie, i dont know which of the 3 it is , all i know is when I moved the tiller there was no resistance for 2-3 inches, so i;ll have to wait for the survey report i will now study you 3 possibilities, thanks for being there.
