A big ask but my boat is being put in the water this Friday and I am stepping the mast. This is a job I have never done and can't afford a pro to do it I have crain hired but only for thirty mins. Is there anyone who would be able to come help me for lunch and a beer to do this please as can't afford a riger. Paul Stevens 07926262796

Not wishing to rain on your parade, but I thought Hamble Point, MDL insisted on having a rigger.

I would suggest a check otherwise you may incur even more costs with storage and a second crane fee.

Just IMHO.

Would help if I wasn't working, but I too would also be very surprised if the marina lets you do it yourself. As previously suggested, check with the marina otherwise you maybe out of luck.

I was caught out some years ago stepping the mast on our then 27 footer in port Solent. Use to do it myself all the time at another location; but told I wasn't there. Fortunately it was deck steped so only took a few minutes and thus wasn't charged much by the riggers. Frustrating none the less!!
