Chaps,

Greetings from Baku. Now has anyone heard of a boat called a Conrad RT760 built in Poland in the early 80's.
There is one for sale out here open to offers and since I'm going to be here for the next year I'm intersested but the advert says Offers. I've no idea as to what it might be worth.

Hopefully

Nige

I don't know the boat and I don't know the Baku market. But in this country, assuming it's a 24/25ft cruiser racer type and 'normal' in most ways, and allowing for the fact that it is Polish built, I would say that in this country it would be worth between £5,000 and £8,000, erring towards the lower end if there is any doubt about her condition and the amount of kit on board. In a slack market and in ropey condition £4,000 might be closer to the mark.

Sure there was one for sale on the Broads last year, but I thought it was Hungarian maybe. I thought it was cheap at about 5k. Now trying to remember where it was advertised. Later, later

Thanks James and Jim,

The market over here is a bit of a chancers market. A local sold a 40 footer the month before I got here for 7500 dollars as he needed the money, don't know what it was but his niece works for me and told me the story. Another 19 footer in really ropey condition sold for 5000 last spring!
This boat has, according to the advert, new standing rigging and is reported as being in good nick.

I'll have a look at her next weekend in daylight at Baku's new yacht club.
The bar and resturant are finished but the rest is just concrete and shuttering.
The marina itself has about 50 berths with 10 occupied and of those 6 are mobos.

I've only seen one of the yachts sailing. Had a good run but they couldn't sail to windward. Sad really.

The average wage out here is 50 dollars a month but with all the expats on mega bucks it makes the market a trifle strange. It just depends on who is looking.

I'll let you know.

Cheers

Nige
