Help needed Rexroth wired remote control for main engines, anchor and thruster

Dear forumites,

I found the below Rexroth wired remote at a very good price and I am trying to decide buying it or not. The item comes with remote unit and the connecting cable, nothing else. It is a SS spare part, which I think will fit to my M70. I also have Rexroth controls at my boat. However I am not sure if this is a "Plug and Play" device. To my opinion, I should arrange for a female socket to the cockpit, which will be linked to engines, anchor and thrusters. Or is it a naive thought that such a female socket is already waiting ready at the Rexroth control box at the engine room? As I am far from the boat, I can't check it now. Is there anyone here who may know about it?

Not so naive, but only as far as engines control is concerned - which is the most tricky part anyway.
That is, assuming that you've got the so called "Mini-Marex E" control system (the one with the blue box control units inside the e/r), because that remote is meant exactly as a plug-in option for that system.
I'm just not sure if you will need to buy another interface unit in between, or if it's just a matter of attaching the plug in your pic to one of the sockets under one of those blue boxes (they are interconnected anyway, so there should be no need to connect to both through some sort of "Y" cable, I suppose).

No idea about how to connect it for its other functionalities, though - i.e. also for thrusters and winch.
I suspect that the reason for possibly requiring another interface unit (if any) in between the remote and the blue box might be just that.

Thank you for your input, which helped me search for some photos on Google and identify the system installed at my boat. This is what I have at the engine room:



I think this is slightly different than the Mini Marex E, but I can identify usual Rexroth sockets with yellow protection caps on them. I am very positive that the remote will fit into the system but still I will check it with the Rexroth service tomorrow, before buying the unit.

no I've only had the boat a short time ,the surveyer tried it and it worked fine but i think i would like to be a bit more used to the boat first.
I'm more inclined to operate the boat from the flybridge where i feel you have better visibility

I never tried this specific remote, but I did try remote controls in a few occasions, both wired and wireless.
You must get used to them a bit, but once you do, they are VERY useful, particularly when mooring stern-to.

Dear friends,

I have worked on the issue in the last days and found out that the Rexroth handheld should be connected to a Rexroth interface, to which anchor and thruster connections will also be done. As this interface is quite an expensive one, my dreams of having a bargain on a remote control have flown away

The total project is still half the price of Yacht Controller, which is wireless, but if I will spend a serious amount of money for a remote control, I will then go for the YC.

Anyhow, I have 4 cams which help me with docking. If I will have a set of BT headsets, I will be fine I believe. And quite a sum will be in my pocket
