I’ve been offered this yacht - does anyone know what type of yacht this is, has me stumped. Quite a distinctive look, not sure if the spray hood / windscreen would have been original?C3F0D089-2190-4373-93E2-DD33E87B1480.jpeg

Are you serious?

It would be nice to know the length, beam, auxiliary, keel type, rudder type.........

Also where is the yacht located..............?

Not really necessary - as the OP says, it’s quite a distinctive look. And you won’t find it just by googling approximate dimensions.

Someone who knows what it is will recognise it instantly. It feels kind of familiar to me, I’m sure I’ve seen that windscreen before (which implies it is original) but I don’t quite have the name.

" This little boat with her combination of space, horsepower and some sailing ability - all at an amazing price - was a runaway success at the London Boat Show. The liquidation which followed hit the boat building industry badly resulting in much loss of confidence. Much later, at about 1971, this useful yacht had a short run as the Shipqueens Kent Class, under totally new management".

Well she was identified a lot quicker than I thought - The person who I have spoken to about the boat doesn’t seem to know much about her, so as someone said blindly searching for what I though was around a 23ft boat wasn’t bringing up many results!

These examples all seem like lovely boats, will see what this one is like.

I don't remember actually sailing or motoring on it, but several times sailed 'loosely' in company with it on a boat related to a half-tonner. It certainly stood up to some fairly gnarly weather, and made comparatively good time too. A ton of space inside, I suppose that the only thing they lacked as a perfect motor sailor was a roof. There really ought to be a modern equivalent.

Back in the 70s, there was one in the next marina berth to me for several years. Quite a novel design; the little seat on the foredeck is rather different.

I'm not sure that you should be writing it off as a 'Broads boat'.

Most people will recognise a windy day in the Western Solent. This was us in 25-30kts. Take a good look in the background.

That's the Kent Class keeping up with us.

Sorted, I think.

Edit, no it's not. The site seems to drop links to pics when it feels like it. I gave up putting them back in every couple of months in another thread.

25-30kts, Kent Class in the background.
