Help, I can\'t find my broken engine starting alarm

My engine ingnition alarm no longer sounds, you know the high pitch squeel you get at the position before you crank the engine over, but because it can't hear it I can't find where it is if you know what I mean.

Could find it if it were making a noise but then wouldn't need to coz it would work. So where would I find it, engine bay or behind dash and what should it look like. Its a Maxum so I guess it is a rubbishy american automotive part that I am looking for.

I just can't be arsed...

Don't know the Maxims, but would guess behind dash...

Remember a Fairline once with such ones (Volvos).... Black Cicular plastic 3-5 cm across, approx 1,5 cm thick with a "speaker grid" protecting the membrane.

I would agree, behind or in the dash somewhere, my Volvo has one within the main panel, speaker/sounder should be within earshot- does it not show anything in youre engine operators manual?

Behind dash sounds favourite but other long shot might be in the throtlle unit itself. Certainly is the case with a lot of outboard engines.

dog I know you're new to the forum but please "does it not show anything in youre engine operators manual" we don't do manuals here, you'll get booted over to PBO for a fortnight for such a suggestion...if TCM or someone such like catches you.

I just can't be arsed...

My Maxum wiring diagram (most definitely not a manual) shows it behind the dash.
