More of a pictoral effort this one as I have left my log on the boat. Not even sure if these are in the right order but they will give some idea of where we have been and what we have gotten up to over the last couple of weeks

Norfolk

Tremendous pics :D

:DI particularly like the gaff-rigged yacht: used to spend many happy holidays as a teenager sailing those round the Broads with a flotilla from the Green Wyvern Yacht Club at Lowestoft.....happy days.....any chance you've any that show their names?

Lovely pics, my spiritual home

I was stood on Burnham Overy beach a couple of weeks back, and watched a small (ish) cruiser heading east. I wondered if it might be you.

Great pics, brings back many happy memories of sailing and cruising the Broads. I don't know anywhere quite to pretty, with such easy mooring. Mind you, we bust a few sailing!!

Hope the underpants were duly changed after going under Wroxham Bridge!

The Broads are good but give me the Thames any day. I spend at least two weeks on the Broads a year and my boat has the damage to prove it (damned drunken hirers).

Regards.

Alan.

B*gger - I wish you hadn't done that ! We had a trip up to the Broads planned for August, but had to scrub it due to other commitments.
Still there's always next year !

Coming back through the bridge, when the footage was filmed, wasnt half so scary as going through it the first time. It looked like we would have loads of room until i stuck the bow rails under then realised it would be a little tight. By which point it was too late and I had commited to going through.

Luckily we escaped the Broads with no hir boat damage. We were hit by a private boat in Mutford lock however on the first day of our visit. Luckily nothing more thana scuff which will polish out next time we have her lifted.

I love Norfolk. Great photos, thanks for posting. Good to see you visited Wells, how's the entrance?

Its the third time we have visited Wells this year. Its starting to become like a second home berth for Naughty-Cal!!

The entry was fairly smooth and flat due to the really very calm weather we had. The exit was a little more "interesting" shall we say. The weather had been blowing all that week (Force 8 NE) and made for some uncomfortable nights aboard with the boat being thrown around towards high tide.

The weather dropped enough for us to leave on the Friday but was still blowing a Force 5 NW. Not too bad once out at sea proper but the bar was a different kettle of fish altogether. We knew it was bumpy even in calm conditions but it was a rough ride in a small boat in a Force 5. At one point we were faced with a cresting wall of water taller than the boat. The other boats we were with were too busy making sure we popped out of the other side that they almost misjudged the following wave. It gave us a greater understanding of what our boat is really capable of. We had settled in for a six to eight hour pootle along the coast as we couldnt get onto the plane but eventually she got up and managed to maintain a good speed.

By the time we entered the Wash the sea had ironed out and was almost like a mill pond. Couldne have been a much greater contrast.
