Hi all,
Just registered on the site although have read the posts each day for the last few months.
I thought I would introduce myself as my first boat is being delivered to me on Friday, which means I will no doubt be asking plenty of questions over the coming months.
I look forward to receiving any help which will be gratefully received and to no doubt meeting a few people from the forum around the solent over the coming years.
Bye for now, kind regards

Stuart

Well it's too late now you've done it and registered. If only I'd known.

Thanks for all of the welcomes everyone, really looking forward to picking the boat up on Friday.
Interestingly there are no plates for new boat owners like the green P plates for cars.
I suppose travelling around the solent at 3kts with all the fenders out, and the whole family wearing life jackets looking worried will give the game away though.

Would it be wise to avoid the solent and start of the global challenge this sunday as I am a newbie?

Regards

Stuart

It will be very busy. Even if weather is calm there will be hundreds of boats milling around, many of them mobos travelling at displacement speeds and churning up the water. But - it will also be a great sight. Take it easy and try to go with the flow.

Hope you have a good first weekend.
