Hello everyone

Re: Zip heaven

Errm, didn't see anything out last weekend (Sun/Mon), flybridge, sports cruiser, or otherwise, which kind of proves my point: If the weather is that bad, you're not going to go boating anyway!

Re: Zip heaven

I was out on Sunday , crossed from Dunkerque to Ramsgate having travelled along the coast from Oostende /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif in an open cockpit too /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Re: Zip heaven

No no no, I meant "normal" people, not the mad ones that go out in anything /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: Zip heaven

ah right /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't think anyone could class me as normal /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Southern--Lad, fair play Your first post has certainly created some interest.
Welcome too.
One thing is for sure, You aint gonna make the right choice first time.
Or second or third time, or anytime!
Most on ere are still looking for the "right boat".
Maybe spend a little less for now.
Get something a bit smaller maybe.
Just to start with.
A well known make a few years old but not too old.
Get afloat and see how You like it and what boaty things You like to do.
Tiss a good Hobby and Sport.
The damn things suck money at any level, go wrong, p%ss You about and can be frustrating.
Wonder why boats are referred to as "She"!
However like the She,s once you,ve had one you are hooked!
One thing is for sure.
Your first one won,t be the last!
Good innit. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: Pimping ...

Hmmm seems to be following a similar vein now as as the last thread i followed attacking Jez for being commercial and breaking rules etc etc. Let's just hope that this snipeing does not stop Jez posting so we all lose his valuable advice and experience. I think most of us are capable of taking a view on what is genuine unbiased advice/opinon and what may be pointing towards commercial. I can't believe anyone here has taken just one forum members view as the only way to go and if they have that is their decision.

So SL I agree with Tervera buy a Birchwood 25 but then I am also biased , so when you hit that first pontoon it causes a red face rather than that sinking omg £125k just smashed into a pontoon feeling /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

On a serious note take all the advice and views from here and anywhere else you can obtain advice and you have certainly generated interest, then make your own decision. get it even half right and you will have a huge amount of fun and learning to come.

Re: Pimping ...

Must be something about Birchwood 25 owners that compells them to drive into something hard when they first start /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The point is good though , no point spending loads on a first boat , better to learn with something older and cheaper , then buy a posh new boat when you know how to handle it . After all , who learned to drive in an Aston ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif not me , a Montego made more sense /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
