Afternoon all,
I'm based in the west country and have picked up a brilliant little MG Club 16 traior sailor, she's certanly seen some fun on the water in her time with a few honisty marks here and there.. We've completely striped her out making her as light as possible with her little lifting keel she' an absolute joy to sail and tow certaly great fun with supprising proformance on the water, espessally having also added a new set of sails. But i was wondering if anyone else has a club 16?
- Would be keen to hear from anyone with either a MG Club 16 or 19 if indeed there are any more out there still sailing.

Cheers Nathan.

The small boats are indeed good fun and excellent ways to learn all the bits about sailing ...

Years ago - there was an article in YBW ... "Small Boats go further" ... basically owners of various craft were asked about their use of their craft ... as size increased - the use and frequency significantly reduced ...

I have a couple of 5m boats and they really get used a lot on the wide deep river I live next to. One is sail and other is motor. My larger boats are used a lot less as its more involved to go out with them.

I reckon many will not appreciate or understand the fun and enjoyment you will most certainly have with your 16.

Welcome to the madhouse!

As an official old fart, I'm past my time on such nimble craft, as they require in return more nimbleness than I now possess, but there's an old saying that the amount of fun to be had with a boat is inversely proportional to its size.

I'm not looking forward to getting old. Fortunately I'm only in my mid 70s so I've got plenty more years of dinghy sailing ahead of me :)
