The Conq 38 boat has a HM 2984 HTD combined lamp laying in the locker ... seller said he planned to refit the lamp ...

As I understand - it came 'off' during last mast work. The base is still at masthead.

It appears to me as if the anchor light lens has come unglued from the mid part ? The top Tri-colour clips and turn-locks into mid part fine. But the lower clear lens anchor part doesn't.

So how does the whole assembly stay together if the lower anchor light lens doesn't lock into the mid ring ?

TBH - if its broken ... I will remove the base and replace with a smaller LED anchor only light .... when mast is worked on.

That looks to be the case. There is no reason to be able separate the mid part from the top of the all-round white lens is there ?

None that I can see .... the contact strips can be removed by unscrewing from the Tri-colour side.

There's no visible screw or locking arrangement on the clear lens to mid black joint - but there are tabs other end that I expect lock into base.

Given my dislike of Tri-colours anyway ... and likelihood its naffed ... looks like I shall be gluing the lens in ...

Not likely to do what most people would do then and replace the whole thing with a LED version ........ Only £330 from Force 4

I can think of much better things to spend 330 quid on ... ;)

I've l;ooked at various pages online at this lantern and it appears that anchor part has come 'unstuck' ..... so if it lines up and works after gluing - it can stay ... with possible LED bulbs installed ... otherwise its bin !!

I have a much brighter, far smaller better LED anchor light sitting on the bench that can replace this if needed.
