Heating options for use under way

Drip feed relies on the flue to radiate part of its heat output into the cabin. So not sue how a balanced flue would not 'solve' one and create another issue?

I use a drip feed at sea, by the way . Driven from a pulse electric pump and the main diesel tank, healing is not an issue per se, but I was strongly ( and correctly IME) urged to fit a deep sided drip tray underneath...
And of course you can legitimately claim reduced tax fuel for the heating, which is very thoughtful of someone..

As Minn says , positive cabin pressure is the way to go. And tall, tall flues with H or spinner tops unaffected by eddies and gusty conditions..

You prob have enough ideas already now to go and research 'em all!

The joy of a warm winter cabin is of course, a delight. Best luck

Flue height. Hmmm. Obviously lower is better for keeping it out of the ways of sheets. Do drip feed heaters have any advantage over solid fuel in this regard?

Not sure ( and I've sailed and owned both).

The only height restriction is the boom. ( so fit a rigid kicker ?).

A simple frame guard will keep the sheets free.

For plug and play prob a Webasto or Mikuni is the way to go, with solar/wind and good domestic batteries?

I ripped anEber out, my preference tho..

On the web/yachting blogs Tom Cunliffe knowledgeably talks about solid fuel stoves at sea. Worth a listen ?
