Started works to relocate the Autoterm heater yesterday to make room for some seating.

The exhaust ‘male’ exhaust outlet was quite corroded and as only fitted from new two years ago. If it continues at this rate won’t be much left of it in another two.

Exhaust is stainless, outlet from heater appears to be an alloy.

Is this a mixed metal thing in a salt water environment? IMG_8078.jpegIMG_8079.jpeg

Yes exhaust has upward loop, whole system fitted by approved installer. There is a vertical drop for the exhaust of approx 40cm, slightly horizontal before climbing to outlet, final curve before outlet is curved upwards.

Heater is fitted under a deck seat locker, if sea water got into that level a corroded exhaust outlet would be the least of the concerns. It’s a Hardy fishing 20, canopy on all year except for the days it’s used.

Sea mist? Something in the air? Fernando?
