How hot is the exhaust pipe temp (near the heater) on a ebersacher when running on full power.?

Way too hot to touch! So make sure no cables or hoses run near it or can come in contact when under way, seen a few burned hoses because of this, IMHO its always best to fit the glasswool insulating kit.

Make sure you allow for the high temps on the exhaust run as well as the exhaust gas.

Looking at your installation pics on your link, you could increase heating effeciency by as much as 30% by fitting the 3M purpose made insulation on the heating duct pipes.
It is a little expensive but does make some difference.
Very neat job you done.

The maximum temperature of the exhaust pipe is 280°C measured 100mm (4”) from the heater. Therefore it is important that the exhaust system is insulated with approved Eberspächer insulation material.

The hot air ducts are in fact insulated using made-for-the-job Webasto insulation (more local and cheaper than the Eber version), hence the good air outlet temperatures. You can just make out the logo on the heater output insulation. Can't understand anyone installing such a system and not insulating the ducting. My current boat was purchased with a "professionally fitted" Webasto unit already installed, without any duct insulation at all and no fuel shut-of valve! The fore cabin warm air outlet is barely above cabin ambient after all the ducting heat loss from the stern situated heater. Another project to do before winter :>)
