Let’s hope we get to keep our EHIC benefits, but I have just started researching what to do in the event it goes.

I have just come across a scheme whilst looking through the Schengen website. The level of cover is relatively low but seems to cover emergency treatment and repatriation. And it covers periods of up to 6 months - at a reasonable cost compared to the more comprehensive schemes. I wonder what others make of this? The price quoted is for up to 64 years of age but there appears to be a tariff for those above that age.

Here is the first page I looked at and the insurance detail linked to from that page:

If I read it correctly, it will be 398 euro for couple staying 6 months.
At age 65 it jumps to 577 euro
66-75 is 1154 euro Ouch. (But we might be limited to 3 months anyway).

......but am I not right in thinking that this is much lower cost than the alternative (perhaps more comprehensive) policies offered by others? I had in mind that we (as sub-65 year olds) would be paying a couple of thousand pounds for our 5 months living aboard in Europe and was pleased to find this!
