Headlining fitter - Portsmouth

Anyone have any recommendations for someone to fit a new headlining in the Portsmouth/Gosport/Emsworth area?

I did not think Hawke House actually do this work themselves but can no doubt suggest those who do. They certainly supply the kits for Westerlies.

You should find several ads in the small ad section of the boating comics such as PBO

Roger Nantais is the the name which immediately springs to mind http://www.boatsandwatersportswebsite.co.uk/headlining-replacement-service.

I beleive there may be other suggestions/ recommendations on the WOA website members area

The WOA forum or Yahoo group may also bring forth recommendations

I asked for an estimate from a guy recommended by Hawke House, he came down, but he really ramped the job up and even then, I never heard from him again. I also had an estimate from Roger Nantais, which I accepted, and he did a very nice job. I am in Gosport, he is based near Poole, but will travel as long as the job is not too small.

Got 3 names from Hawkehouse.

One seems reasonable & is looking at the boat in a few days. One is already booked to do a mates boat the same as mine & will get back with a proper quote - again probably reasonable.

One quoted a guesstimate of 3.5 - 4k. i.e half what the boat may sell for !!!!!! Perhaps the fact he's Hamble based may have something to do with it.

Hi. Any update on your headlining quotes?

We do headlining replacements (We are actually currently working on a westerly merlin), but the boat needs to be local to us here as it's a long old job.
