Heading West

We are looking to spend a couple of weeks cruising the Cornish south coast between 10 and 23 August. We now have a crewing opportunity to take to boat some way west (from our home port in Portsmouth) in the week on 28 July.

This would be great as Swimbo and kids would not have to make the long haul from Portsmouth at the start of the holiday.

Can anyone advise of a good, but cheap place that we could leave the boat for the week or so between these two dates. (28’ sailboat drawing 1.55m) Somewhere in the Brixham - Salcombe area.

You could try Exmouth - piermaster is 01395 269314. Has the advantage of a train service to Exeter and points beyond

recommend that you go round the corner to plymouth - lots of moorings there, some quite cheap.
left my boat at weir quay up the tamar one year and was very well looked after. dont know if the outfit has changed hands / staff, but they are worth a look.
