I was out by the needles when I saw what looked like a rooster trail with no boat, it turned out to be this guy.

mmmmm, not seen him around here before!

lets follow him and see if we can get some pics.

so off we set at 30 knots.

this was taken at full zoom and then enlarged, he just disappeared off , like a bat out of hell, we watched him , well not him his rooster tail wash disappears down the Solent, he turned just of Cowes and came back, down toward Lymington,

this is him going into lymington, again on full zoom , we had only just reached the entrance to lymington and he had been down to Cowes and back and was still ahead of us.

hehehe found you, being the nosey person I am , I stopped and asked him what it was, X something or other, it has been in the mags recently, top speed of 100 mph, they wanted it for the James bond movie but it was not ready in time,

Pretty sure that blasted past us in Southampton Water recently. We were doing around 40kts and it literally flew past. We looked at each other and went "What the flipping heck.........?" but by the time I had even thought of the camera it was long gone.

He got his length/beam/freeboard calculations all wrong. Perhaps his wife put the fag packet in the wash in his jeans pocket and it read all differently when he got it back. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Same kind of set-up with those ZF Trimax drives, granted different engine options on spec with the XSR, not a Yanmar insight!!!

I saw that on Wednesday afternoon going past Hurst Spit, I was at 7kts with my weather gear on as it was blowing a hoolie and I had water coming over the screen on my boat. He went past at about 50kts so can handle a bit of weather alright.

It might be from the same stable, but that boat doesn't look to be 48' long unless the finger pontoons are supersize.

Quite like the look of the raggie next door. Interesting way of installing roller reefing!
