There's an Australian guy on this forum(?) who has a large yacht based in Patagonia. About 12 months ago while he was in Australia for a few weeks I managed to locate his yacht which he said was having a bit of work done on it.

Not sure what you are getting at.?
Did you drag the map around and use the + - buttons?
Did you put the mouse pointer on the "ship" to get its' name?
That was what opened from your link, no zooming, moving etc..

Did you want us to just pick a random one?

Well the Stavanger to Nedstrand fast ferry is on time and it is obviously not to rough as he /she is clocking 27.1 knots.

can we have a hint ,like, its name ?

If you look at the Marine traffic AIS Tracking maps you can see what type of ships/boats are traveling (say) in Antarctica, around the Cape of Good Hope or Cape Horn etc.

You could look to see where friends are sailing in the Mediterranean (if they have an AIS transponder)

If you have cruised on an ocean liner you may be interested to know where the liner is now?

But it is just a way to waste half an hour.......

Sorry my mistake. I thought it was a particular boat that was of interest, no worries(y). I do waste a lot of time on Marine Traffic as well as Google Earth. Both mighty big rabbit holes :) .

I was once (stupidly) a shareholder in an oil company. I was particularly interested in the movement of a drill ship which was going to drill the next well off the coast of West Africa. I was shocked and bewildered when the ship veered well off course. But I investigated further and the penny dropped: the skipper was diverting to pick up a 3kt sea current.

It is going to be 42C today so I'll probably waste another half hour looking at this link.
